☀️ Sunday Joy: New Neighbors, New Vibes, and Job Apps, Oh My!

Y’all. I’m on cloud nine.

ree

Like, the type of cloud that serves iced coffee, plays 2000s R&B, and smells like fresh laundry. Because this week brought a tidal wave of joy I wasn’t ready for… Thomas and Celeste are back!

Not just back for a quick visit or “staying until next Thursday”—I mean back back.

They moved here from California and will be staying until at least September, which in sibling time is basically a whole season of Farmer's Market runs, family dinners, and inside jokes that make no sense to anyone else. And not to brag, but they’ll be five minutes away. FIVE. That’s dangerously close for someone like me who shows up unannounced with snacks and zero chill.

🏡 The Cutest House with the Sweetest Plans

What makes this even more special? They bought my grandma’s house. Yep—the very one wrapped in family memories and stories that span a decade. And let me tell you, they have the cutest plans for it. Think cozy, functional, with just the right balance of “new start” and “family roots.”

I’m already volunteering myself for any and all DIY projects, painting parties, or Pinterest fails they need backup on.Seriously, I hope to help them however I can—because I know without a doubt they’d do the same for me. That’s just the kind of love we’re working with.

👯‍♀️ Sista from Anotha Mista

And Celeste? Let’s just say, we get along really well. Like, scarily well. We’re similar in so many ways—personality, sense of humor, taste in snacks—and we’ve already claimed our titles as patio wine/weed pals and Dollar Tree explorers. She truly feels like my sister from another mister, and I’m honestly excited for the girls' nights, the spontaneous craft sessions, and the inevitable “we bought the same thing without planning it” moments.

🧺 Sunday Markets & Sweet Finds

Today we checked out the Sunday Market in the Fox Hill neighborhood, and it was everything. Sunny, chill, and filled with sweet vendors and the kind of finds that make you feel like you have your life together (even when you absolutely do not). I snagged the cutest iPad holder and a handmade bookmark for my grandma—small, thoughtful, and budget-friendly. Ten out of ten, would shop again.

💼 Job Hunt Diaries

Switching gears—let’s talk about your girl’s current mission: get a job, preferably one that pays well and doesn’t suck the soul out of me.

Lately, I’ve been applying left and right. Some of the standouts:

  • American Heart Association (because: meaningful work + amazing cause)

  • A remote travel agent gig (can you say "professional wanderluster"?)

  • A mix of retail, event marketing, and anything creative that doesn't require me to fold jeans at warp speed

No interviews yet, but I’m holding out hope and staying motivated. For me, this job hunt is driven by two things: money(because... life) and experience (because I want to build something real). My dream job? Something in crisis management or public relations—you know, fast-paced, purposeful, and maybe a little chaotic... just like me.

💭 Life, Lately

All jokes aside, I’m just feeling grateful. Life feels good right now. My people are close, new beginnings are blooming, and even with a nine-day forecast full of rain and random chill temps (yes, I wore a sweatshirt in June—no, we’re not talking about it), I’m still smiling.

It’s not perfect, but it’s peaceful—and that’s a vibe I’ll take any day.
