Firemen, a Fried Outlet, a Washer Rebellion & a Perfect Dinner
Letās talk about Wednesday, because Thursday-Me is still trying to catch up from the chaos⦠and also currently wearing my bookkeeping hat and diving into a stack of reconciliations. šš
Yesterday started full of promise ā furniture delivery was on the books. I had a planāa vibe. And then?
š Cue the sparks. One of my outlets straight-up exploded with flair ā sparks, smoke, and a delightful burning plastic aroma. So, naturally, I had to call 911. And before Iād even brushed my teeth, hot firemen were standing in my living room. Like, actual firefighters. And me? In a two-sizes-too-big shirt, hair doing its own wild thing, no bra, no brushed teeth ā just chaos and vibes. Thankfully, my face held up OK thanks to skipping makeup the day before. A win? Iāll take it.
Once that scene cooled down, the washer decided it had seen enough and just⦠quit. No lights, no spin, no signs of life. But itās not the outlet ā oh, I tested it. My appliances are just drama queens.

Meanwhile, my dogs were living their best life, completely relaxed through the chaos. I guess if Momās home, all is well in the kingdom.
But the day wasnāt done.
Later that evening, I grabbed dinner with the girls ā Ava, Emily, and Mila ā and our favorite little guy, Nico. Mila and Nico are essentially my niece and nephew at this point, since their mother is my sister from another mister ā and yes, Iām collecting titles faster than I can keep track. Dinner? Delicious. The convo? Even better. The kids? THE best. Sometimes, the perfect antidote to a day of disasters is good food, great people, and loud laughter echoing over the table.
And because weāre gluttons for productivity, we even peeked at the schedule for the upcoming semester, which kicks off this Sunday. Letās say: itās going to be a whirlwindāclasses, work, life ā all colliding in the most beautifully chaotic way.
So in summary:
š„ Electrical panic
šŖ Furniture no-show
š§ŗ Washer boycott
š©āš» Bookkeeper mode: engaged
š Dinner therapy with my crew
š Semester prep: underway
š¶ Dogs: still chillin'
