Out With the Old… and the Overspending.

ree

Monday was unexpectedly great. I clocked into work for an hour, ran some errands, and—you guessed it—spent money I absolutely do not have.

Why is this my toxic trait? Oh right, because going from two incomes to one is a whole personality shift. Budgeting who? She doesn’t live here anymore. But while my wallet took a hit, my house got lighter.

Out with the old—literally. I’ve been purging like I’m starring in a one-woman episode of “Tidying Up (With a Side of Sass).” If it can’t be donated, it’s on the curb. If it doesn’t spark joy, serve a purpose, or fit my future self—it’s gone. That includes expired vibes, dusty clutter, and maybe even a few bad decisions in the form of wedges I wore once in 2016.

Why are clothes the hardest to part with, though? I hold up a top and think, but what if I go wine tasting in Tuscany next month? Girl, you don’t even have a passport right now. So I declared war on my closet. Goal for the week: cut my wardrobe by a third. No mercy.

Tuesday rolled in with sunshine and ambition. I made beach plans (yes, this is self-care), sold a TV (go me!), and went to an interview. And get this—I turned it down. It wasn’t what I want long-term.

Sure, I’m job hunting, but that doesn’t mean I’m settling. I’ve worked hard to get to this place where I can afford to be choosy. The silver lining? I met a woman during a different interview who felt like Future Me—a version that’s found her rhythm, her confidence, and maybe even a better brand of paint. We vibed. She was uplifting, encouraging, and possibly the plug for some painting supplies. Manifesting more moments (and people) like that.

And speaking of manifesting—can we talk about the beach lineup I’ve got coming together? Chase, Jasmine, and her girls are meeting me out there, and if you’ve ever seen pure chaos and cuteness collide, that’s exactly the vibe. The girls bring the sunshine, the snacks, and the sass—so basically, they fit right in. Chase is always good for a laugh or two, and Jasmine? Our beach chats are half therapy, half comedy show.

To top it off, Thomas and Celeste are joining too, which just seals the deal for a good time. They’ve been back for a few days now and honestly, having them close again feels like hitting the family jackpot. We’re all overdue for some salty air and sandy toes, and I’m determined to make this beach day one to remember. Think: music, sunblock, stories, and maybe a little harmless gossip.

Oh—and I had the sweetest call from Momma Nina. It was one of those check-ins that warms your heart and makes you feel like everything's on track, even if your budget isn't. I even got to congratulate Mr. Wayne on his retirement. He tried to convince me he’s already bored, but let’s be real—we all know better. With Nina by his side and Milani keeping him on his toes, boredom doesn’t stand a chance. That man is about to be booked and busy in granddad mode.
