Monday Musings: Weekend Recap & HELLO MOVING WEEK šŸ

I know, I know — it’s been a minute since you heard from me. Honestly, I kinda went underground for a bit. Too many plates spinning, and a few were getting dangerously close to crashing. Biggest one? The new house.

Man oh man. So get this: they found even more damage underneath the kitchen (because of course they did). Only way to fix it? Rip up the kitchen floors. Which pushed the closing to the 3rd. Ironically, that’s my military anniversary. Cowinkie Dink? I think not. The house gods have jokes, but I’ll take it.

All jokes aside, I’m beyond excited to downsize and live a little more comfortably. Less to clean, more to breathe. Exactly what my soul (and back) needs.

Saturday Shenanigans

Saturday was all about hanging with my sister-in-law. We kicked things off at the Buckroe Flea Market with Savage Sallie — who, by the way, was living her best little life. Already plotting a return trip this week to snag some plants.

Later, Thomas, Celeste, and I hit up the Norfolk Flea Market where I found the cutest bag (because self-restraint is overrated) and Celeste scored a t-shirt. We wrapped up the day cruising around Ghent and popping into a fabric shop. Just your classic day of mild chaos and retail therapy.

Sunday Funday (Sort Of)

Sunday was supposed to be my ā€œget my life togetherā€ day. Picked up a sewing machine I was so excited for — only for the somabish to show up broken. Classic. But silver lining: dropped it off with Celeste to see if she can work her magic, and got to catch up with my grandparents in the process. Sometimes life reroutes you on purpose.

Monday: Back In Rare Form

Today? Oof. Started off with another mental health appointment at the VA. Turns out my PTSD is still wreaking its own special brand of havoc, showing up in ways that mimic ADD, OCD, and ADHD. So, onto a third medication (will spill the tea on the name once I get it).

Then it was back to STS for work. As for that other gig — apparently NCA Inc. is a full-on sales company, and after hitting 77 doors, let’s just say that life isn’t for me. My social battery is still filing a restraining order.

To the Future šŸ„‚

Now it’s on to walk-through plans, closing plans, moving plans — and maybe taking a quick second to actually take in the new house plans.

If you’re feeling strong (or just want to come laugh at me tripping over boxes), feel free to reach out and help me move! Payment comes in pizza, bad jokes, and dog cuddles.

Catch y’all on the flip side — hopefully surrounded by boxes, dogs, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.
