“Hi, I’m the Chaos Behind the Keyboard”

Updated: May 12

Hi, the name is Brittany :)
Hi, the name is Brittany :)

Well, well, well… look who decided to start a blog. (It’s me. I decided. After caffeine, a minor existential crisis, and three dogs staring at me like I owed them rent.)

Let’s get one thing out of the way: I’m not here to give you perfectly filtered perfection or curated Pinterest calm. This blog is powered by coffee, sarcasm, and the sheer force of stubborn will. I’m just a human tornado trying to turn my whirlwind of thoughts into sentences that make people laugh, cry, or at least nod while silently judging me.

So who am I?

I’m the kind of person who sets 7 alarms, wakes up before the first one, but still manages to run around like I am going to be late. I love dogs more than most people and firmly believe that "winging it" is a valid life strategy because who ACTUALLY has it figured out. I am pursuing a degree in Mass Media and Communications with concentration in Strategic Communication, a mouthful right? Basically, I am here to help get messages that I personally promote across to others.

What made me choose this path? And to start over at 30 (I am 31 now, so a year in)? Well, I joined the United States Navy in 2012 and was medically discharged in 2019. I was a Hospital Corpsman and loved it! I was stationed in places people dreamed of for vacation. I miss the traveling, which brings me to why I started over. I wanted my next career to be something that is fun, flirty and fabulous. And what doesn't bring that like Mass Media (insert laughter here).

I also would like to choose a new path that allows me to take my bumps and bruises in life, and turn it into something postive. Over the course of 10 years, I have realized how much I enjoy working with military/veterans, women overcoming social dynamics and anyone willing to learn how to find peace and solitude. I especially have a soft spot for mental health awareness, as I am someone who battles Major Depressive Disorder/Anxiety/PTSD. I am open about my story because that is the first step in healing. Being comfortable with, well, being you!

This blog will be part diary, part stand-up comedy, and part "I have no idea what I’m doing but maybe you don’t either, so let’s do it together." Expect real talk, ridiculous moments, possibly too much information, and a sprinkle of wisdom if the stars align. I am always up for topic recommendations, questions and of course advice throughout!

Thanks for being here. Buckle up — it's going to be a beautiful mess.
